5 months and what I am up to...

Believe it or not, I am 5 months old already. My mom can hardly believe that the time has gone that fast.

I weigh 17 pounds 8 ounces (my sister was 18 pounds at one year! I am over half her weight now and I am only 5 months!).

I am 27 inches long (or at least Mama thinks I am... She had to measure me because the nurse didn't do it at my last appointment).

I am wearing 6-12 month clothes and 3-6 month stuff does not fit well anymore at all!

I am still not doing the greatest job sleeping at night. I have a hard time because I am so itchy on my head. Finally my mama took me to the doctor this past week and after consulting a pediatrician (my doctor is a general practitioner) they decided to put me on 1/2 teaspoon of Benadryl at night. That seems to be helping. I still like to wake up after sleeping for a few hours and go in my swing in my mama and papa's room. I like sleeping sitting up, I have always liked that more.

I am eating cereal, vegetables and fruit. I enjoy real food more than a bottle, but Mama says I still have to drink my bottles.

I am being spoiled right now because my abuelos are here visiting from Venezuela. It is great that they are here right now because I am very interactive and they make me smile and laugh all the time.

I am loved more and more each day. My mama saw some pictures of me when I was born while visiting my great-grandma in the nursing home and she said she can hardly remember me being that small. I am so big right now!

Baby Mozart

You can never start too early...

Mama, I am trying to get my practice time in between naps.

Please, enough with the photos...

Garage Sale Steals

Thursday mornings in the early summer our neighborhood has TONS of garage sales. This past Thursday I had a set-up meeting for a baby shower I was a part of at 9:30, but I made a point to leave the house early (with the help of my mom, of course!) so I could see if there was anything to be had at the neighborhood garage sales.

We found some clothes for Katrina and this tool bench. Guess how much the tool bench was?

$3.00!

I asked the lady immediately upon seeing it if someone had already bought it because it was such a great steal of a deal. She said no and I told her, "We will take it!" Katrina got a whole set of tools for Christmas because she loves working alongside her papa and we are thinking Samuel might be into it as well as he gets a bit bigger. So, now Katrina has a tool bench for all her tools.

* Don't mind her outfit... One of the things she got at the garage sale was a sundress that came with pantaloons. She wanted to wear those without the dress. Those are the times you say to yourself as a mom, "Pick your fights, Kristina. Pick your fights.

20 Weeks and Mini Vacation

My mom had a conference at the Lodge at Cedar Creek and we were able to to use the water park passes (and stay the night in a cool room!). Samuel (2 days shy of 20 weeks in this picture) and Katrina really enjoyed themselves, as did Pancho and myself.

Thanks, Mom, for thinking of us. We had a great time. It was a SUPER fun mini-vacation.

Sleep Deprived?

Samuel has had a hard time falling asleep lately, both during the night AND during the day...

Yesterday after eating his dinner (peas, oatmeal and bananas with berries) he was dozing off in his high chair. I was busy preparing our dinner so I gave him his pacifier and he was out before I turned my back. Poor little rascal.

He suffers from a bit of eczema on his face and head, and although it does not look bad, it is really bothering him and that is making it hard to settle down enough to sleep. Please pray for him (and me!) that we can figure something out. The doctor prescribed some 2% hydro-cortisone and we are using that according to the directions but it doesn't seem to be helping alleviate the itching feeling. At night we have realized we are in a lose-lose situation... If we swaddle him so he cannot aggravate his head while he sleeps, he is so bothered by the itchiness that he thrashes so much to get out of the swaddle he wakes himself. If we don't swaddle him, he scratches himself so hard he wakes himself.

We will get it figured out, but in the meantime we both need some extra rest so if I fall asleep at the dinner table, you will know why! Unfortunately, I don't think I will get that luxury!

Off the burner

We have been SO busy lately. I am sorry! Our blog has gotten pushed not only to a back burner, but at times it appears it has been pushed right off the stove!

There are a few new posts for you to enjoy of Samuel (weeks 18 and 19) and then some of our family of four that our good friend Dan took last Friday evening.

Family Photo Shoot

Like I have said before, getting all of us to look at the camera and then all be smiling appropriately is quite a feat. Great capture, Dan!

I LOVE this one.

This is Samuel's GREAT smile.

If they don't look like siblings...

This is definitely a FAVORITE.

What a sweet girl we have.

All boy.
