Out of Order

Sorry to those who regularly check this blog. It has been temporarily out of order and therefore the following posts are also "out of order." I had a bit of time tonight to create some posts and therefore as I went through the pictures I simply posted them instead of taking time to sort out when various things happened, etc. I am sure you don't mind. You just want something new on here, right? Well, enjoy. Much has happened since I last posted...

Getting All Dolled Up

On Friday Katrina and I went to get our nails done. It was a SUPER fun time together. She did such a great job letting the lady from the beauty school manicure and paint her nails. Then, early Saturday morning (8:00) we went to get our hair done. My cousin and favorite stylist, Miekka, did our hair and she did an absolute PERFECT job. We both loved how our hair turned out and again it was a SUPER fun time together.

It is so fun to have a little girl who loves getting dolled up. When we came home from getting our hair done I was touching up my make-up and she got out her make-up bag and did her make-up. Too cute!

Feliz Aniversario

Happy Anniversary, Amor de Mi Vida.

Panchito, When I went to Venezuela nine years ago I had no idea that I would find the love of my life. Isn't that the way we have seen the Lord work, though? I had basically given up on the idea of getting married. I decided to follow God's direction and go to Venezuela and there you were.

The 8 years we have been married have been the best years of my life. God truly prepared you for me and we are a perfect fit.

Thank you for the best years of my life. I am so excited to see what God has in store for us!

Te amo mas que nunca.

Mini Reunion

On August 7 I had a mini reunion with my dearest friends from college at UW-Madison in our home. It was SUPER fun. We had a blast being all together again after nearly 4 years. Since we were last together we have added 6 children to the mix. Here are some pictures of the eight children that were here on the 7th. It was CRAZY and we picked up and organized at least 8 times that day but I would do it all over again in a minute to have my girls back here hanging out!

In the picture of just the four of us you will find: Brenda, now living in Duluth, MN and serving the Lord with Campus Crusade for Christ with her husband Aaron (in the picture with Panchito) and their three children, me, Andrea, who lives in Los Angeles, CA as a stay-at-home mom to her two children while her husband, Willie, is an actor (you may have seen him recently on the BEHR paint commercial), and Alyssa, who lives in San Diego, California as a stay-at-home mom to her son.

Girls, I love you dearly and I am so thankful to the Lord for the relationship He established all those years ago in Mad-town via Campus Crusade. I am just as thankful for the way He has maintained the relationships over the years and many miles that have separated us. Thank you all for making the effort to reunite here.

Thanks also for the "Design on a Dime" event. Two of the ladies are interior design majors. They helped me makeover our living room and now we are in the process of looking for a leather ottoman for the space.

Still a pasta lover through and through

Sneak Peak

Yesterday Nick and Amber were married. Because three of the four of us were in the wedding (and the fourth has not been trained in photography!) we have a sneak peak at what took place. Once the happy couple get their pictures back I will be sure to upload more pictures. Thanks to my aunt Jean and my uncle Jerry, we have a few pictures...

"You may now kiss your bride."

Beautiful flower girl, Katrina.

Indicator

In the morning Pancho doesn't need to ask me how the night went. He can simply look at the little table next to the chair in our room where I feed Samuel if he wakes during the night. It is the perfect indicator of how the night went.

Samuel has still been having a tough time during the night. He is sleeping in his own bed, which we can consider a victory, but he is typically waking up once or even twice at night and I resort to giving him a bottle when he is awake because basically it is the only thing that works (besides the fact that I am exhausted and not thinking rationally).

Last night was a rough one... He went to bed around 10:00 and was up at about 11:00 and I gave him a bottle. Then he was up again around 1:30 and I gave him another, smaller bottle (he goes 4-5 hours during the day between feedings -- who knows what happens at night? Although some have suggested that he is so full from eating during the night he can go that long during the day!). And then he was up again at about 5, I think. I lost track of time because I was so distraught over him waking up so often when he is already 6 months old. I laid him down after the third bottle and went back to bed. I lay there just about crying thinking about what I have done as a mother to create a baby like this.

And then I remembered... I forgot to give him Zyrtec last night. He takes 1/2 teaspoon of Zrytec every night to help with the itchiness, etc. Lately I had been wondering if that was necessary. No need to wonder anymore! He needs to keep taking the Zyrtec and I need him to keep taking it too!
