Our 4th of July celebration was great this year. Last year we were fearful that Katrina would be scared of the noise of the fireworks so we decided to stay home. It just doesn't feel like the 4th of July when you don't see fireworks, so this year we decided we would give it a try. Besides, as Pancho's first year as a US citizen, he could not miss celebrating his new country's independence.
Before the fireworks started Katrina got a chance to participate in a great 4th of July pasttime: sparklers! She really enjoyed the "sparkly" stick and it was a great prelude to the real thing that began shortly after.
We brought ear protectors for Katrina to wear in case she was frightened. She kept them on for about half of the show, but the noise didn't seem to bother her.
This picture does not do justice to what we saw, but it is the best shot we got. Sorry! Sorry too for the guy's head!

How fun! Katrina is so gorgeous with those big eyes! :)
ReplyDeleteI didn't think Eliana would be bothered by the fireworks, but we had to join her 8-month-old friend behind the sliding glass door before she would relax- she still covered her ears, though!
How are you doing, friend? I've still kept you in my prayers- and will continue! Love to your family!
