When moving here are a few things to consider ahead of time...
Be sure to label your paint cans when you paint so you know exactly which can to use to touch up which room.
About that, always (I mean ALWAYS) be sure you have enough left-over paint for touch-ups later on.
When thinking about what you will need in those final days in the "old" house, consider extra toilet paper and a bar of soap.
Along those lines, when planning meals for that final week, be sure to set aside all spices and recipes that you plan to use. Just having the main ingredient will not do.
Buy a lot of packaging tape.
In the new house label the bedrooms according to the box labels for ease of delivery on moving day (numbers are also acceptable).
I am sure more will surface later and I will add to this list.
another tip is to write the amount of paint you used to paint a room under the switch plate or outlet cover so next time you paint you'll know how much you need...experience is the best teacher and you've learned a lot! :-)
