Only in Venezuela

Before I write this post I want to be clear.
I like Venezuela.
I found my husband here, for goodness sakes.
It is just that life in the good ol' US of A is so convenient.
If you have never been out of the States you don't really know what I am talking about,
so I thought I would show you a little bit of what I mean.

Oh, and two more things,
Pancho is on the same page as I am when it comes to Venezuela
and he approved this post.
And we are very aware that there are surely other countries where these types of things happen as well. We are just sharing our observations about Venezuela.

Only in Venezuela can children ride in the car wherever they want, and move from the front to the back and the back to the front.
Only in Venezuela can you drive at basically whatever speed you want to and if you want to run a stop sign, just beep your horn.
Only in Venezuela do you have to go to half-a-dozen hardware stores
(that are very, I mean very, different than what we have in USA -- let's just say that everything is behind a counter and you have to ask if they have something VERY specific and even if you see it from your side of the counter, they may not give it to you)
to find a very simple piece for the project you are working on.
Only in Venezuela, when you are at the 5th hardware store, and it is almost noon do they tell you that they are closed for lunch until 2:00.
Only in Venezuela do you go to the bakery and push your way to the front of the "line" and get served without getting any nasty looks (why? because everyone does that and there is no line).
Only in Venezuela do you wait for hours in a line to make a deposit at the bank or to pay your phone bill.
And only in Venezuela can you have an absolutely wonderful time
in spite of all that I just listed.

We are so blessed to be hanging out here, swimming in the pool, walking around at the mall, installing a stove-top, enjoying meals together around the table.

I had a very special opportunity today to enjoy lunch with Pancho Sr. and Emelys, alone.
I made Pancho Sr.'s favorite lunch, country salisbury steak.
Samuel was asleep and the others were out at a movie.
We sat around the table and enjoyed the meal and the company.
It was wonderful.

The Lord is blessing all of us with great memories.
When I see Pancho with Katrina and Samuel, I have the richest feeling inside my heart.
His love for all of us is so great.
Our love for him is so great as well.

Pancho Sr. is doing well.
He is receiving treatment and we spoke with the doctor and they have a plan for his care.
We are trusting the Lord that He will do as He sees fit
and we are certain that whatever He chooses to do will be for His glory and
for our good.
