hospital bed

So, we are in the hospital... Pancho has blastomycosis, they think, and is really sick. So far the medicine is not showing any positive effect so we are waiting. That is the hardest part. Waiting and not knowing. Tonight, right now, he is sleeping, snoring actually, In the hospital bed that 24 hours ago he asked me to sleep in so he could try out the sofa-bed because he could not sleep a wink. And it sounds so good to me. If your husband snores you are probably wondering why it sounds good. Well, I have not heard him snore in close to a month. Before he was admitted to the hospital (on Wednesday) he was sick for 2 weeks with a cold. So hearing him snore tonight after too many dsys of not is music to my ears. Just not the kind of music I would choose to listen to in the middle of the night. But don't get me wrong. I am thrilled that he is getting rest. One thing I said to him tonight was that even though I don't like one bit to see him in the hospital bed on iv anti-fungal meds and on oxygen, I am so grateful it is him and not Katrina or Samuel. There are a handful of children on our floor (I'm thinking they consolidate when they don't have too many patients). Today a new little baby came and he/she cries ALL the time. It just breaks your heart to hear it. So, even though it stinks to have him in here with no discharge date known, I am thankful at 3:18 am that he is the one snoring in the hospital bed and Katrina and Samuel are sound asleep (as far as I know) in their beds at home, thanks to the help of our wonderful extended family.

I'm thankful that it's not one of your little ones, either, but we're praying that you guys see some improvement soon! Jenni
