Second-born becomes only child for a few hours...

Samuel and I have had a great two weeks!
Last week Katrina participated in a VBS
at a local church and this week she was in Safety City.

Even though she was only away from us for a few hours
at the most, it was a SUPER fun time for Samuel and I
to connect in a way we really are not able to connect.

Being the second-born he is always with me with
Katrina around.
Although there is nothing negative about
that, it is fun to see and interact with him
by himself.

He definitely missed his big sister while
she was in class, though.
He cried each day we left her at VBS and
waved longingly to her when we left her
at Safety City.

On the way home from her Safety City graduation
today she said, "Samuel, aren't
you glad that my classes are over and we
don't have to be apart anymore?"
He nodded assuring her he was.

It is the sweetest thing to see them interact.
Even though they are boy and girl, they get
along so well and the Lord has already blessed them
with a beautiful relationship that we
are praying continues for
years and years!

  1. today I tried to make hailey and jack take a "break" from each other and play in their separate rooms, because I was so tired of rushing in there to someone crying and they both screamed and cried until I put Jack in Hailey's room, then they just played and played and played like they were best friends who'd been apart for forever! I love the sibling love!
